The Political Developments in light of the War in Afghanistan and President Bush Statement on Palestinian Statehood;

Assessing the political situation, Mr. Nabeel Amro, Minister for the Parliamentary Affairs Said:

" We realize the developments on the international area, and we try to work on the ground in consistency with these developments; mainly in not providing the Israeli prime minister Arial Sharon the opportunity to escalate the tension and aggression against our people, and to protect our Palestinian people from any danger due to this international mad typhoon.

The world is realizing that war against terror can be void if it was not accompanied with a radical solution to the regional conflicts in the new century with the Palestinian issue in the fore front.

' We view with deep concern President Bush statement about the Palestinian state which came in response to a collective international stance engineered by the European Union, Russia and Japan which sees in the establishment of a Palestinian state as the best and most effective solution to the conflict in the middle east."

" Our policy is to create the necessary introductions to make president's Bush saying as a starting point for a serious work to establish the Palestinian state on the ground."

" Calming down the situation here is an important task, but we doubt that Sharon shares us these views. He tries to exploit the international development for committing more atrocities against the Palestinian people"

It wasn't by chance that since the attack on Washington and New York on September 11, we are witnessing an escalation of the Israeli aggression and an increase in the number of Palestinian casualties that that have fallen during this short period. Moreover, Israel is reoccupying some new territories that are under the jurisdiction of Palestinian national Authority " PNA".

We are working on crystallizing an Arab-Islamic joint stance towards what is happening now in Afghanistan. This stance, will be consistence with international legitimacy. It will be also base on a definite and ripe identification of terror, with its forms and motives.

We will take into consideration that there is an Arab and Islamic consensus and almost on the international arena that occupation , settlement and colonization, and the policy of collective punishment that is pursued by the Israeli government are the most dangerous forms of terror in this century.
